1. Who we are
ebookwriter.app ("we", "us") provides a service for creating and exporting eBooks. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, and, if you sign in with Google, the profile name, email and picture Google shares with us.
- Content you provide: topics, uploaded documents, links, video references, generated chapters, images and exports.
- Provider keys: AI API keys you choose to add. They are encrypted with a key held only on our servers and are never displayed after you save them.
- Usage and technical data: pages visited, actions taken, device and browser type, IP address, and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention and improving the Service.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor. We store plan, invoice references and credit balances, never full card numbers.
3. How we use data
We use your data to operate the Service, generate the books you request, keep your account secure, send transactional email (verification, password resets, receipts), provide support and improve the product. We do not sell personal data and we do not use Your Content to train AI models.
4. AI providers
When you generate content, the relevant prompt and inputs are sent to the AI provider you selected (or to our platform provider if you use credits). Those providers process the data under their own terms. Where you use your own key, requests are made on your behalf with that key.
5. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies.
6. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Content and exports are kept until you delete them or your account. Backups are rotated within 30 days. Security logs are retained for up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can edit your profile and delete books yourself in the app; for anything else, contact support and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
